File an Advertising Challenge

Through competitor advertising challenges, business can play a significant role in building trust with consumers and supporting fair competition in the marketplace.

National Advertising Challenges

Any company or non-governmental organization, including trade associations and nonprofit organizations, can file a National Advertising Division (NAD) challenge to the truth or accuracy of national advertising in any advertising medium. With the exception of the Fast-Track SWIFT Disclosure track, all NAD challenges are initiated with an opening letter explaining why the challenged claims are misleading, accompanied by supporting evidence.

Direct Selling Challenges

The Direct Selling Self-Regulatory Council (DSSRC) was established in 2019 to proactively monitor the marketplace and enforce program standards to promote truth and transparency in the growing direct-selling industry, including on social media platforms. This program offers companies in the direct-selling industry a fast and efficient forum for review of express and implied claims about earnings and product performance.

Children’s Advertising Challenges

The Children’s Advertising Review Unit (CARU) protects children under age 13 from deceptive or inappropriate advertising. CARU handles challenges and complaints for national advertising in all media directed to children, including mobile advertising, metaverse environments, and more.
